Casual Retail Assistant – Summer Hill Wine Shop

We’re looking for a friendly, switched-on team member to join us behind the counter at our little wine shop.

This is a casual position offering up to 30 hours per week, with the potential for part-time or full-time hours for the right candidate. Friday and Saturday availability is essential, and some evening shifts are required (we close at 8pm).

About the Role:
• Customer service focused retail role
• Processing sales and handling day-to-day shop operations
• Restocking shelves and maintaining store presentation, including lifting boxes (8–15kg)

What We’re Looking For:
• A genuine interest in wine (knowledge preferred but not essential)
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable attitude
• Reliability and a willingness to learn

Requirements:
• Current RSA (essential)
• Driver’s licence (preferred)

🍷 Giaconda Release Announcement! 🍷

There’s been plenty of excitement surrounding the latest Giaconda release, particularly after the winery once again sold out its allocation in a matter of minutes.

To celebrate, we’ll be offering a small online release featuring the highly sought-after 2024 Chardonnay, along with the 2024 Pinot Noir, 2024 Roussanne and a handful of carefully cellared back vintage wines.

The wines will go live on our website at 1:00pm on Tuesday 9th June.

Due to extremely limited availability, purchases of the 2024 Chardonnay and 2024 Pinot Noir will be restricted to 2 bottles per customer, while the 2024 Roussanne will be limited to 3 bottles per customer. To maximise your chances of securing an allocation and take advantage of our 6+ bottle pricing, we recommend planning your order and having additional wines ready in your cart ahead of the release.

For those looking to explore the range, we’ll also be offering three different Giaconda Mixed 6 Packs (can be viewed online), showcasing a curated selection of current and back vintage releases. Each pack will include several bottles of the highly sought-after Chardonnay, providing another opportunity to secure some bottles of this iconic wine.

This is one of those wineries that needs no hype - they just quietly sell out, year after year. A tiny biodynamic estate in the hills of Beechworth, run with real soul and a level of patience that is almost extinct in Australian wine. Hand-tended vines, wild ferments, no corners cut, precision without losing feel.

The 2025 vintage has delivered wines of exceptional freshness and purity. A long, measured growing season allowed fruit to ripen evenly while retaining vibrant natural acidity, resulting in wines that are aromatic, energetic and beautifully balanced. As always with Sorrenberg, quantities are tiny and demand far exceeds supply.
