A birthday biscuit tradition🎉
I started a little tradition of making biscuits to match my son’s birthday theme each year.
I enjoy bringing his birthdays to life, marking the moment with the little obsessions, colours and characters that remind us of exactly who he is at each stage.
The idea is that one day, when the birthday themes inevitably stop, we can bring them all out together to bake an eclectic little collection marking the birthdays of his childhood. An edible timeline of all the things he fiercely loved for a little while 🐇🚌🦖🚜.
I hope that one day they bring back more than the themes. That he holds on to the excitement and the delight of seeing it come together, anticipating the arrival of our family from all the places we call home, and the people gathered around him. Because sometimes the recipes we return to become part of the memories we keep.
