The outrageous extension to the HVO coal mine as been approved by the NSW Independent Planning Commission. It’s time to mobilise to place climate & nature protection back on the political agenda for the NSW state elections early next year. Join AYCC at the Nature Conservation Council election campaign launch next Thursday in Sydney.

This campaign is strategically focused on the Lane cove, Drummoyne, Ryde and surrounding areas which hold marginal seats so are best positioned to push for ambitious climate & nature policies. All welcome. RSVP —> 🔗 🌳

☀️🩵AYCC Sydney is proud to introduce our 2026 team!! Grace, Gia, Hannah, Ash, Alissa, Aishling and Nirvana, after 4 days of training on Gore/Goreee country, involving organising and campaign skills training, leadership development and campaign-decision making are ready to guide young people to a better and brighter future. Excited to see everyone in person, even more excited for all the fun times and climate justice campaigning planned for this year!! 🩵🌱
We believe in the power within every young person and can’t wait to see everyone using this power to campaign with us for climate justice and make our world a better place, so don’t forget to sign up to our upcoming events!!☀️🌱🩵

NSW youth will not allow the Minns government to burn our future‼️

We oppose the largest coal mining proposal in NSW history- the extension of the Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) for another 20 years of detrimental climate pollution, environmental destruction and neglect of the local communities on the frontlines of extraction.

We need youth to show up in numbers in Sydney this Saturday, 10am, Martin place near Phillip street to demand the government protect our future. Join the AYCC contingent & support our speakers on the day.

We invite you to a special fun & festive community fundraising event hosted by AYCC dedicated to raising funds for sending young climate activists to the Power Shift climate summit in 2026!

🗓 Date: Dec 6th
⏰ Time: 6pm - 8pm
📍 Location: Mona Vale Memorial Hall
🎟 Tickets: $10 (all proceeds go toward funds to support bringing young people to Power Shift)

Young people are on the frontlines of the climate crisis, yet too often our voices are ignored. We want to change that with Powershift!

With the possibility of COP31 being in Australia next year, we want build to a youth climate summit designed to bring young people from across the country together to fight for climate justice.
