Having a coffee with a friend one day, she looked longingly at the selection of cakes and sweets at the cafe and said "I wish I could have one of those with my coffee". She is gluten intolerant and had tried the occasional gluten-free treat but had been very disappointed with the quality and taste. I love to bake and decided to experiment with gluten-free ingredients to produce some tasty treats.
I used my friend as a taste tester and can attribute the success of my products to her feedback. Kayz Treats eventually evolved. Kayz Treats are sold at various markets in the St George and Sutherland regions in Sydney. Our treats include a selection of cookies with some that are not gluten-free for those who are afraid of trying gluten-free goodies; mini friands which originated in France and are primarily almond and butter cakes which are light and delicious. And not only do we sell these mouth-watering treats but we also love the idea of inviting friends for high tea and have a selection of high tea crockery including teapots and cake stands, as well as tea cosies and tea towels.
