In this video we demonstrate how you can prepare fried cheese pancakes (or atayef) at home. 🧀🥞 Each bag contains around ½ kg of pancakes. There made fresh daily and available all year around! You can find all the ingredients used instore at 65 hoskins Ave Bankstown or 87 Highclere Ave Punchbowl.

Step 1 – Prepare the cheese
Shred the sweet cheese using a grater.
Mix the cheese with a little sugar (or sugar syrup) and rose water. Alternatively you can fill the pancakes with ashta.

Step 2 – Fill the pancakes
Place a small amount of cheese in the centre of the pancake. Be careful not to overfill, as it may open while frying. Gently fold the pancake over and press to close.

Tip: The *larger pancakes work best for fried cheese pancakes.

Step 3 – Fry
Fry them in vegetable oil, canola oil, or ghee (ghee gives the best flavour).

Step 4 – Finish
Dip the fried pancakes in sugar syrup (available in-store), sprinkle with pistachios, and enjoy!
