Join us at Australian Museum this weekend for their community day 🦗🦗 we’ll have our famous butterfly house, stick in-cubator and microscope detectives activities. Our activities $10 for a 30 minute session or there are heaps of free ways to science as part of the museums science trail 🦗🦗 you can catch our friends Bugs About in Surviving Australia for some free bug fun.

Come and learn all about the importance of leaf litter bugs with us at Sydney City Farm. Get your hands dirty in our leaf little touch tank and speak to our entomologist about what it’s like to work as a scientist.

𝐒𝐲𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐲: 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

Experience Sydney City Farm during National Science Week at this free, family friendly open day. Meet a scientist and learn about their work. Check out some weird and wonderful seeds and make your own seed bomb. Get up close to leaf litter bugs and insects and study them under a microscope. Create a sun print artwork to take home. Learn about how birds, bats and mammals contribute to plant propagation. Take part in our seasonal scavenger hunt around the farm. Join a tour and see how we attract beneficial insects with plantings for pollinators. Pot up a seedling to take home and care for. Bring your own water bottle. This is a family-friendly event and parents must supervise their children at all times. Sydney City Farm is located in Sydney Park, St Peters. The nearest park entrance is on Barwon Park Road. We recommend taking public transport.

Wondering what to get your loved one for their birthday? My husband and kids took me for a day out at bloodsuckers Australian Museum and had the best time! Lots of awesome interactive activations and we all learnt heaps. You can get our real ant candy in the Australian Museum Shop on the way out.

Tickets for the Australian Museum Sydney Science Trail: Community Day are now open. There's lots of free activities and you'll be able to join us and our friends from Bugs About during this special science week celebration. You can join our Bug-Tastic! Workshop for just $10 (but book quick, because spaces are limited!). Saturday 15th August only.

As part of the workshop you'll meet live Australian butterflies in our immersive Butterfly House, train as a junior bug detective in Stick Insect Spy School, and explore the microscopic world through interactive challenges.

Join us for a one-day science bonanza, jam-packed with science shows and activities for kids of all ages!
