Finally got around to trying Irish Chinese tonight at .chans . And by finally I mean like a year of meaning to try it. I was pretty impressed. Wes and I barely made a dent in this box and it was all pretty nice, that curry sauce took the prize though. Worth going back do that alone. Crispy chicken, chips and fried rice with chilli and salt.

There’s few things I like about summer, but one is the nostalgia of soft jumbo rolls from Woolies loaded with butter, cucumber, tomato, cheese and cold cuts. I’m aware this could be eaten at any time but for some reason it hits different in summer. This is cucumber, tomato, cheese, pickles, turkey, pastrami, white onion, mayo and seeded mustard.

Been giving marinara sauce a run for its money lately in this house. Sauté onion and garlic then add canned whole tomatoes and salt, wash out the cans with white wine, smash the tomatoes and simmer. Chop up basil add half and blend, then top with the remaining basil and Parmesan. This was also topped with crispy prosciutto. I also made a focaccia randomly, didn’t get too bubbly but tastes nice. Probably won’t use cheese ravioli again though

Had the desire for “Fried shrimp” Po Boys. I used “s there because we all know they’re called prawns but out of respect to Louisianans I called them by their correct name. Short marinade in old bay, then egg wash and flour/cornstarch combo with more old bay. Fried for a delicious crispy finish, served with lettuce, tomato and mayo on a long roll. Should’ve used pickles

Steak Frites with entrecotè sauce. Now I know it looks like someone took a s**t right in the middle of my plate. But that s**t was made of all the good things. Butter, anchovies, herbs, capers, sautéed shallot. Amazing. Hand cut and fried the chips, steak was a “sharing” porterhouse from Woolies which, I probably won’t get again. Overall tasted amazing even if looks like poo
