1&5: The algae bioreactor building facade based on MELiSSA technology, known as the "Algo House," is a sustainable architectural innovation developed as part of the "In Vivo" project in Paris.
2&4: HOK / Vanderweil's "Process Zero: Retrofit Resolution," Inspiration for this building retrofit came from nature. The bio-inspired design aligns with HOK's move to use sustainable systems thinking. In 2008, this strategy led to a formal alliance with Janine Benyus and The Biomimicry Group, a bio-inspired innovation company. The two organizations are currently working on a new planning and design methodology called "FIT." This Fully Integrated Thinking tool is rooted in life's principles and draws from nature's proven design solutions.
3: French architects have chosen China as the location for the world’s greenest building. A significant role will be played by algae, which seems to make almost any dream come true. No wonder the project is named French Dream Towers.
