What a week of long awaited rain we've had around here!
We love rain, kids love rain, plants love rain, ducks love rain but do you know who doesn't love rain?..... Chickens!
It can turn their pens into a breeding pen for all sorts of nasties.

- respiratory infections (like mycoplasma or infectious bronchitis.

- parasites (hello coccidiosis)

-fungal issues

-muddy-foot problems like bumblefoot

and a nice little surge in mites and lice thanks to the humidity

This is a surrendered olive egger fella. He's the sweetest fella (unless you ask miss 5 as he's a little too friendly for her) he's never far from my side and if you happen to bend down to pick up anything up, watch out, his fav spot is on my back/shoulder.

Problem is.... He needs a name that's not 'new rooster with 1 golden feather'
