Some coffees impress you with bright fruit. Others earn your respect.

This month’s Roast of the Month is one of those coffees.

Wahgi Mek was first established in 1976 in Papua New Guinea’s Wahgi Valley. By the late 1990s, the estate had fallen dormant and was left untouched for decades.

Then, in 2025, something remarkable happened.

The estate was brought back to life—not just to grow exceptional coffee again, but to rehabilitate the historic farm and invest in the local smallholder farming communities that have always been the heart of Papua New Guinea’s coffee industry.

Grown between 1,500–1,800 metres on rich volcanic soils, this washed lot combines Typica, Arusha and Bourbon varieties to produce a cup that’s rich, balanced and incredibly satisfying.

Expect notes of brown sugar, caramel, dark chocolate and ripe stone fruit, finishing bright and clean.

Last month’s Kenyan microlot was vibrant and fruit-forward.

This month is deeper.
Warmer.
Comforting.

Freshly air roasted in Sydney and available for August only.

Once this lot is gone, it’s gone.
