The bumper year for twins on our farm continues! The perfect weather and gangbusters pasture is clearly helping! All the years of work on the pasture finally paying off, as well as careful management of herd numbers.

Wow, been an extremely busy few weeks! We have sold quite a few Persian sheep, so nice to provide flocks to new farmers or folks just looking for some lawn mowers or cute, easier to handle sheep.

Been a wet winter and the pasture is doing well, as we have kept the flock below 100.

Elizabeth will be slowly reducing the numbers to around 50 of the very best quality. We have to keep at least 50 or the grass will become uncontrollable!

Pics are of a nice chap who came all the way from Giopsland. Great that people come from all over the place to see and buy our sheep.

Check out Elizabeth’s forced grin! I told her to smile, which was a challenge after a few hrs of sorting, trimming hooves, vaccinating and drenching!

I installed a new sign for the farm, it’s not a speed sign, it’s more a general statement of what our attitude to life should be. SLOW.

This was Elizabeth’s dad’s pilot sign, used for directing traffic. So a nice use for it. We will remember Brian every time we see it, or tell a visitor to ‘meet us at the Slow sign gate’

Here’s a video of our newest, cutest mini Dachsund, Mr Boris! He’s hilarious, very spoiled as mum only had the one pup, and oh so cute.

Simon has fallen in love with him, and is refusing to let him go! But if you message here or on Gumtree, I will try to get him to you secretly 😂

He loves gnawing sausages (Simon’s fingers) or pretending to be a kangaroo. Hippity hop..

Hi Everyone, hope you are all enjoying this chilly and wet (down here anyway) winter! Lots of fence holes being dug and general harder work that doesn’t get done in the hot summer.

Anyway, if anyone is in need of a new Maremma sheep guardian dog, we finally have one for sale! Check it out in our Gumtree ad below. Pebbles is quite a large female, but very affectionate and will be an excellent flock guard! Contact us if you’re interested, just went up today.

A few reports of a large meteor last night @9:50pm. Wow, I managed to capture it, very bright! Watch for the deep red burn off at end . Looks north-west of Shepparton

Our Twinkles has only had 3 very chubby, gorgeous girl pups! They’re so chunky that Elizabeth wants to keep 2 of them for the next generation of guardians.

While on the topic of new dogs, what on earth is it with tight-wallet buyers nowadays?! We advertised gorgeous new dachshund pups recently. One of the lowest prices in Vic. But many still keep asking for large discounts, despite us often bringing the price down.

Then suddenly, it’s ’oh can you deliver?’ For free ?! Like, a 5hr return trip. So our hours are worth less than theirs? Their wear and tear on vehicles on our crap Victorian (regional) roads is more than hours?

Then there’s the classic ‘but we are paying cash’ , like we hadn’t priced the dogs considering the ‘convenience’ ‘advantages’ of cash?!

Oh and my favourite one ‘he will be going to a very loving home’.

So we are meant to discount our own very loved animals, because we had assumed we were selling to the standard animal neglector?! Like, we should actually pay the amazing buyer as a reward for their (promised) worlds best care of our apparently starving and unloved animals?!

It’s actually the opposite. Any buyers here know they are very lucky that we decide you might be good enough for our animals, who are having a ball here already and we really, really angst over whether YOU are good enough for our beloved animals.
