Sorry I've been a bit MIA on here of late. I'm not going to lie I have not had the best luck lately on the chicken front. I had a few exciting new things on the horizon this year for my breeding program but like most other silkie breeders fertility rates have been shockingly low. To top that off I've had a visit from the ranger which has dampened my mood and my dog after five years of living and being around chickens (free ranging) all her life she's randomly decided she likes the taste of them π.
I thought I'd share a photo of Wednesday and Poppyseed my only two black hens that I have managed to hatch this year from my own line to cheer myself up and hopefully bring others joy.
I don't only like to share the good stuff on here but also the challenging stuff too.
P.s if anyone has any advice on the dog situation and how they have handled it (anything other than putting her down) please let me know I'd like to try other avenues. I understand once they get the taste that's essentially it but I want to at least try.
