Position Vacant

Casual farm hand position located 15km from Tamworth on a 240 acre property. This property includes our Wagyu stud, mini belted Galloway stud and cropping for our Wagyu backgrounding.

The successful applicant will be reliable, highly motivated, energetic, have a good work ethic and have a keen interest in the agricultural industry. They will demonstrate good communication and time management skills. They must be able to work independently. Animal husbandry skills and low stress stock handling skills preferred.

Your role will include:
• Assisting the farm owners in running a quality mixed farm enterprise
• All aspects of livestock management including cattle handling and husbandry
• Operating a loader to feed cattle pellets and hay
• Planting grazing crops
• Undertaking general farm maintenance and upkeep, such as fencing, w**d control and coordinating equipment maintenance
• Assisting with the cattle AI breeding program
• A commitment to safe work practices and animal welfare
• Operating and maintaining farm vehicles and equipment

What we are looking for:
• Previous experience working on a farm or in a similar hands-on agricultural role
• Ability to work unsupervised
• A strong work ethic and a genuine passion for the farming industry
• Proficiency in the operation of farm machinery and equipment
• Experience in machinery set up, calibrations, operations and maintenance
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of work
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• A valid driver's licence and a current Chemical Users Accreditation

We currently have a husband and wife couple who subcontract to us and this has worked well as some tasks require two people.

The hours for the role will vary throughout the year depending on what is happening on the property.
