Andersson’s Gentile Embrace series “is a provocative modern-day rendition of biblical scenes”, including da Vinci’s Last Supper. The Twelve Apostles are represented by contemporary figures that are judged and outcast by society. It asks us to question our preconceptions and stereotypes.

Blackman produced a series of 46 major works inspired by Lewis Caroll’s fantastical classic Alice in Wonderland. They offer a bizarre, hallucinogenic illustration of Caroll’s iconic adventure that broke the Victorian mould of instructional children’s literature, encouraging imagination and freedom of thought.

Michael at Domaine Leflaive, 2005.

Michael’s love of fine Chardonnay is only matched by his dislike of fat and flabby offerings. In his early years he stalked Chardonnay gurus, with brief stints in Australia at Giaconda, Cullen Wines and Shaw + Smith, and in Burgundy at Domaine Leflaive.

Like all great wine the lesson learned was that vineyard is paramount and a light hand is required in the cellar.

Happy International Chardonnay Day. From Piccadilly to Puligny, cheers to whichever Chardonnay is in your glass.

Vintage has begun!

First delivery of Stonewell Shiraz on Tuesday. Judging by the smile on Michael Hall’s face, he’s pretty happy with the result! His 2026 single vineyard Michael Hall Wines Stonewell Road Shiraz will be one to look out for in the future.
(His current release of ‘23 Stonewell Road Shiraz is sold out, but keep an eye out for his ‘24 release). 🍷
