Last night, we had the pleasure of hosting our Collection Release 2026, showcasing some of our finest w**es alongside our Senior W**emaker, Jeremy Ottawa and Managing Director Michelle Geber.

From exceptional Old Vine vineyards to the craftsmanship behind each vintage, Jeremy took our guests on a journey through the stories, character and heritage that make our w**es so special.

A wonderful evening of great w**es, inspiring conversations and a shared passion for the Barossa.

Flashback to a week ago, when the 50th Barossa W**e Show was held right here at Château Tanunda!

For 50 years, the Barossa W**e Show has celebrated the w**es, vineyards and people that make our region so special, bringing together growers, w**emakers and the wider w**e community.

It was wonderful to see this milestone edition come to life at the Château and we had a few more reasons to celebrate, taking home:

A golden start to Riesling season!

Happy International Grenache Day! 🍷

One of the world’s great Mediterranean varieties, Grenache has been planted in Australia since 1832 and is loved for its beautiful perfume, vibrant fruit and spice, with a naturally generous yet elegant character.

Today we’re celebrating with our ''Château Single Vineyard Grenache'' 2024, hand-picked from the Hueppauff family vineyard neighbouring the Château Estate.

Medium-bodied and beautifully expressive, with blackberry, plum, white pepper and spice, framed by fine, elegant tannins.

And one more reason to raise a glass: Gold Medal at the 2025 Barossa W**e Show 🏅

We won! 🏆

Château Tanunda is incredibly proud to have won the 2027 Great W**e Capitals Best Of W**e Tourism Award for South Australia last night!

From being shortlisted among 11 South Australian finalists to taking home the award, it is truly a wonderful achievement for everyone at Château Tanunda.

This recognition reflects the passion and dedication that goes into creating an authentic and memorable Barossa experience for each visitor; from our iconic Château, stunning gardens and grounds to our tours, tastings, hospitality and amazing w**es.

A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who plays a part in bringing the Château Tanunda experience to life every day.

And the journey continues… As a South Australian winner, Château Tanunda will now progress to the Global Best Of W**e Tourism Awards, with the international winners announced in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, this October. Taking the Barossa and our Old Vine story to the global stage once again!

Spring is stirring in the Barossa 🌼

Our '100 Year Old Vines Riesling' vineyard on the Château Estate was the first to welcome budburst in late August, marking the first signs of the new growing season. Meanwhile, our 'Single Vineyard Shiraz' vines are surrounded by a sea of yellow Cape Daisies, bringing a splash of spring colour to the vineyard.

Following the welcome winter rains, the soils have been replenished and conditions are looking promising for the months ahead. The 2027 growing season is officially underway!

Some exciting news from the Barossa!

Château Tanunda is proud to be named one of just 11 South Australian finalists shortlisted for the 2027 Great W**e Capitals Best Of W**e Tourism Awards!

This recognition is a wonderful reflection of the people who make the Château experience what it is; from our beautiful grounds and vineyards, to our amazing w**es and of course our fantastic Cellar Door team who welcome around 70,000 guests each year and create memorable, authentic Barossa experiences.

A huge thank you to our entire team for the passion and dedication that goes into making Château Tanunda such a special place to visit.

The South Australian winners will be announced on 17 September, wish us luck!
