One Year On 💙
Today marks one year since the devastating “1 in 500 year” flood that changed so many lives across our Manning Valley community, including our own family, neighbours, friends, businesses, farmers and customers.
What followed were some of the hardest, most heartbreaking and overwhelming days we have ever faced. Our two businesses and family home were severely impacted by floodwater, mud, stock loss, vehicle and equipment damage, and the enormous mess left behind. At times, it felt impossible to know where to even begin.
But through it all, one thing stood stronger than the flood itself — our community.
From the very first moment, people turned up. Family, extended family, staff and their partners, friends and friends of friends and their children, customers, sales reps, tradies and even complete strangers stood beside us.
You arrived with rubber boots, mops, shovels, wheelbarrows, generators, forklifts, excavators, cleaning supplies, food, hugs, encouragement and compassion. You helped us clean, scrub, shovel, move, sort and save what we could. You gave your time, energy and love when we needed it most.
Thanks to your support, we were able to reopen both businesses just one week later — something we truly never thought possible in those first few days, and something we could never have done alone.
The messages, visits, meals, phone calls and countless acts of kindness meant the world to us.
One year later, we look back with enormous gratitude for everyone who stood beside us and supported us and our businesses over the past 12 months. And a big thank you to our wonderful staff for your hard work, loyalty and support throughout it all.
The Manning Valley community showed incredible strength, resilience, generosity and heart during such a difficult time, and we are so proud and humbled to be part of this community.
From the bottom of our hearts — thank you ❤️
