🌿 The weekend is almost here!
Our popular Native Plant Sale is about to kick off at Kangarutha!
🌱 We've grown over 100 species of Australian native plants for this sale, and we're experienced plant people who love helping you pick the right ones for your patch. Whether you're battling resident wallabies or chasing colour, cover, or canopy – we've got you sorted.

Here's a taste of what's on offer:
🐾 Wallaby-resistant wonders: Masses of pink buds and white flowers on the aromatic Philotheca 'Flower Girl' (1m), pretty purple edible berries after flowering on Austramyntus ducis, blue sprays on Veronica perfoliata, and tough-as-boots tall Kangaroo Paws. Callistemons and Banksias can take a nibbling too if protected early – they soon outgrow the browsers!
🌸 Pretty groundcovers & shrubs: Scaevola 'Sunfan' and 'Fandancer' splash gorgeous blue across the garden, Brachycome puts on a daisy display, Westringia 'Deep Purple' adds year-round colour, and Goodenia lights up shady spots with bright yellow blooms.
🛡 Screening & hedges: Need privacy fast? Leptospermum laevigatum grows to 4m and develops striking trunks with age, local wattle Acacia floribunda shoots up quickly, and bird-attracting Banksia marginata 'Bright' makes a bushy 4m screen. Grevillea 'Big Red' is gloriously bushy and always humming with honeyeaters!
🌳 Small trees for shade, habitat & framing: The spectacular flowering gum Eucalyptus ficifolia, blue-leaved accent tree Eucalyptus pulverulenta, and local Allocasuarina littoralis – a magnet for the beautiful Glossy Black Cockatoos.

Sunday's free Community Open Day runs 9am – 4pm: 👣 Ecology walk (9.30am) | 🛶 Dam kayaking (10am – 2pm) | 🎵 Live music from CELLISIMO (11am) and THE SHIFT (1pm) | 🍔 BBQ lunch supporting TUFC + Katthoo Cafè serving coffee & treats on-site

Join us this Sunday 9am – 4pm for our free Community Open Day at beautiful Kangarutha, and fuel up with a fantastic BBQ lunch in support of Tathra United Football Club!

We’re super excited to have the team from Navigate Expeditions joining us for our Open Day! They’re bringing 6 kayaks down to the dam for FREE kayak hire so you can jump in, go for a paddle, and soak up the peaceful farm views.

Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned paddler, the Navigate team will be right there on the bank to help you launch and share their top tips.

Beyond kayaking, we’ve got a huge day planned on the farm:

The Fine Print:

Everyone will need to sign a waiver before enjoying the free kayak hire.
Kids under 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the kayak.
Life jackets / PFDs are provided and must be worn at all times on the water.
