We received an incredible honour last night at the delicious Harvey Norman Produce Awards held at Aria Restaurant, with Tathra Oysters being named as the inaugural Icon Award winner. Very humbling indeed to read the award aims to “honour a producer who has had a significant impact on the advancement of Australian food and food culture, setting a benchmark for excellence “

A quick check on some of our young Tathra oysters today, and we couldn't be happier with what we're seeing.

These little beauties have come a long way already. Late next week they'll be graded and thinned out, giving them more room to grow into premium oysters.

Trusting our instincts with this Tathra stock is proving to be the right decision.

We are thrilled with the awesome news this morning that we have been selected as one of 2 NSW seafoods (congratulations also Better Choice Fisheries NSW ) and one of 8 Australia-wide seafoods to go through to the National Judging of the 2026 delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards.
The ultimate winners will be announced on August 4 🤞🏼🤞🏼

A very special night for us last Monday when, at a dinner hosted by the NSW Royal Agricultural Society President, John Bennett OAM, we had the amazing honour to be the first inductees into the newly created NSW RAS President’s Medal Hall of Fame. We were presented with a beautiful trophy by Her Excellency, the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of NSW to mark this recognition.
The Hall of Fame was created after we were fortunate enough to be the first producer to win the President’s Medal for a second time in 2025, after having previously won the inaugural President’s Medal 19 years earlier in 2006 and been finalists another 4 times in subsequent years.
Champion products from each year’s show become eligible for consideration for the President’s Medal. Short listed contenders are subjected to on-farm inspections, being scored on modern farming and social values. Gary took the opportunity in his speech to accept the award on behalf of the whole Sydney Rock Oyster industry, pointing out that these custodians of our waterways shared many of the values that the judges had seen and applauded in Tathra Oysters’ farming practices.

What a joy….judging oysters at Bega Show on the weekend.
Dan May from Rock Oyster Depot who judges at Sydney Royal came to help with judging 🙏🙏
We had 12 high quality entries from Pambula to Wapengo.
Talk about a treat for the tastebuds…..makes me so proud to be involved in an industry that produces such fabulous food.
We had a 3 way taste off in the end with Shane Buckley from Wapengo eventually taking home his 3rd Glass Oyster with a tie for 2nd between Stirling’s Oysters and The Oyster Barn, both of Merimbula and Allen McIntyre from Pambula a close 4th.
