Last weekend we hosted the Banana Shire Historical Society to hear about the history of the Barrett family on Drumburle, and also the relocation of Greycliffe homestead to Biloela that Tex was part of around 40 years ago

3 weeks ago we received season changing rain in the QLD monsoon low- 188mm over 4 days. There was a couple of days mending floodfences and then we were back in business- with water in the dams to last us well through the year. What a relief!

Some recent upgrades to a shared trough where cattle tend to apply pressure and a lane intersection we call 'The 5 Ways'. Steel takes a bit more time and money to install but lasts a lot longer and tends not to move in the ground...

Every month we take faecal samples from the breeders on Drumburle and send them to a lab to be analysed. The results give us information on pasture digestibility, energy and protein as well as some trace elements. When the feed turns dry in winter and spring we can them give them a supplement targeted to the nutritional requirements that they need. Cows poo a lot so it's not hard to find some fresh stuff!

Service and repair time. Since doing a renovation to the Drumburle workshop last year, through the heat of the summer it's been getting a workout!

Water- all important all the time but especially at this time of year. We've not had any run-off rain (to fill dams) for a long time so the piped bore water that is pumped to tanks like this and reticulated to troughs are critical.
