How to collect sunflower seeds 🌻

1. Leave the flower on the plant until the back turns brown and the head droops
2. (Optional) Cover with a paper or mesh bag to protect from birds
3. Cut the head with a bit of stem and hang it upside down somewhere dry (or be lazy like me and let them dry out in the paddock)
4. Leave for 1–2 weeks until it’s fully dry
5. Rub the centre to release the seeds
6. Lay seeds out to dry for a few more days (don’t want any mould in storage)
7. Store in a cool, dry place (don’t forget to label)

Save this for later 🌾

Our top 3 white dahlias we can’t live without in the garden and our wedding work 🤍

1. Boundary Snowflake

Great producer and beautiful form. Our centres always blow out as the weather cools but we actually love it. It gives this soft daisy-like feel that works so beautifully in arrangements.

2. Florelie Whipped Cream

Crisp, clean, classic white. She’s not the best storer (those wrinkly tubers) but she shows up every season and never lets us down.

3. Coconut Ice

Stunning shape and every now and then a teeny tiny shade of soft blush through the centre. Absolute perfection.

If you’re building a white palette start here.

Yesterday we finished diving all of our dahlia tubers 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 it’s a slow, meticulous job so it always feels good to tick it off the list.

Biggest love to these two little legends 🖤🖤, no more dreaming about dahlia tubers for a while!

This weekend I’ll be finalising numbers for our upcoming sale.

This! ✨💫 Smiling faces, flowers in hand, and a margarita or two.

We’re looking at dates and dreaming up next years picnic. If you’ve never been before we’re located just outside the Tharwa village in Canberra, only 30 minutes from Canberra City. From local music, woodfired pizza, decadent charcuterie and handmade desserts it’s something pretty special 🫶🏼
