James and I were fortunate to have the pleasure of meeting Gill some years ago. She phoned me in the midst of filming the pre-sale videos. She asked who was doing the filming and I said, “just us” to which she replied, “and you’re still married?”She is an amazing cattle lady who knows what it takes to run and breed cattle. The life she has lived, tucked away on that beautiful stretch of the river is nothing short of incredible. She is without a doubt, a cattle industry treasure!
She bought a bull from us that year (a Texas Mount son… she gave me a wink at the time and said she was familiar with the breeding… 🤭)
We delivered the bull in person and Gill welcomed us and showed us around her property. What a strong and inspiring woman! I often think of Gill when I’m having a tough day in the yards.. and then kick myself in the butt and keep going.
I told Gill I’d get one of her pups one day so I hope she’s still got her dogs. James and wish her every success for her sale and wish her the very best in her well-earned retirement.
(the roses are beautiful this year too… I bet the garden is looking a treat! 🩷)

Have you ever bought something and then wondered how the heck you managed for so long without it? This awesome bit of farm equipment has changed our stock feeding in ways we hadn’t even considered. Last sleep before the big day. A huge thank you to Blake and his crew for their huge push to have the new pens ready for sale day, to the girlpower team girls, Bree, Becky and Tyla for working with the bulls and heifers today, tagging and cleaning, and to Jack and John for the sale area prep… not a stone unturned!.. and to the black knight himself, the man with unceasing energy and drive, James. We look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow. Animals will be penned for viewing and gates open at 10 am.

Two years ago Summit sustained an injury that had him sidelined for some time. Monitoring him closely, he was brought back into service. Last week he turned five and we made the decision to retire him from semen collection with his mate Haydn. Supply of Summit semen has sold out completely so securing progeny is the only way you will get access to his great genetics.
Lot 1 in our 2026 sale is one of his daughters and 15 sons feature across the catalogue. Sale starts at 12 pm sharp on farm at 5082 Olympic Hwy The Rock and is interfaced with StockLive.
