🍑 PEACH BLOSSOMS ARE HERE! 🌸

Winter in the orchard is an exciting time. While the days are cold and the trees are only just beginning to wake from dormancy, our peach trees are bursting into flower — giving us the first signs of the crop to come.

Those beautiful pink blossoms are much more than just a pretty winter display. Each flower has the potential to become a peach, which is why this is such an important time in the orchard.

Our brilliant team is now working their way through the trees, carefully looking at each branch and making sure the crop is balanced. We want enough fruiting potential on each branch for a good crop, but not too much.

As the little peaches develop and grow throughout the season, they become surprisingly heavy. Too much fruit on one branch can put a lot of weight and stress on the tree, increasing the risk of branches breaking. By managing the crop early, we can help the trees support the fruit as it grows and produce better-quality peaches.

For now, we’re enjoying the beautiful blossoms and getting the trees ready for the next stage — tiny peaches developing where these flowers are today. 🍑🌸

It’s still winter here, but the orchard is already getting ready for spring and the fruit season ahead!

Everyone at Cedar Creek Orchard would like to congratulate our Orchard Operations Manager, Damien Silm, on being featured in the Winter 2026 edition of Australian Fruitgrower magazine.
As a fourth-generation grower, Damien's passion, innovation and dedication continue to help shape the future of our family orchard. From growing our Pick Your Own experience into a favourite family tradition to expanding our apple juice business and always looking for new ways to strengthen the farm, his hard work and commitment are an inspiration.
This feature is a wonderful recognition of Damien's vision, leadership and the many years of effort he has put into helping Cedar Creek Orchard continue to grow and evolve.
