With the new year comes new challenges. I’ve had a leg injury for 12 months which has severely restricted by ability to walk up and down our steep property to work the hives but things are improving. Leading into this season I have been concentrating on preparing my hives to tackle varroa mite- it is in the area and backing onto National Park multiplies the risk enormously. I have studied the situation and treatments available. Most treatments are geared to small hive numbers and are very laborious and time consuming. I think I have a solution that will enable me to treat 12 hives in the time it would take me to do 1 or 2 by the standard treatments. More costly to set up but a lot more economical to run. Fingers crossed.
The treatment will not contaminate honey, doesn’t require with holding period and doesn’t harm the bees and has been used very successfully overseas.
And we have honey in stock! Best if you call or SMS to be sure we are available.
