We're in the GI (w**e region) of New England, Australia at 900m asl on the western edge of the Great Dividing Range in northern NSW near the little village of Tingha. We have one of the very few vineyards in Australia with deep terra rossa profondo soils at high altitude. We specialise in mostly Mediterranean alternative varieties. We make small batch, distinctive w**es with a focus on being food-friendly & reflecting their unusual terroir.

Finder 2023 Nebbiolo is medium bodied. Aromas of forest fruits, sour cherry, dried rose and a subtle tarry earthiness.

Our Keeper 2023 Tempranillo Blanco is provides florals with a stone fruit character which is cut through by citrus, and texture providing complexity.

Our Finder 2024 Touriga & Tintas is juicy with a focus on freshness and texture. Savoury notes of red fruits, raisin, old cedar and to***co.

NEW REVIEW: 95 pts for our 2023 “Exceptional w**e. So much spice, exotic in nature, a kin with white vermouth almost, yet gentle, subtle honeyed sweeteness too. Ripe lime, a lick of truffle, some sage leaf, a bit of pine needle and some alpine herbs in the mix too. Lighter weight texture than one would expect, crispness too, yet that suggestion of breathiness that some good gewurz hold true. Extreme persistence. Outstanding. There are very few places in Australia where red ferrosols and altitude combine to produce w**e grapes. Topper’s is one of them. Our red soils provide the architecture, our altitude provides the tension and our straightforward w**emaking does the fine tuning.

Tempranillo…..Blanco? “It tastes like a journey, each glass evolving with time. At first, aromas of grapefruit, lemon peel and white peach, a herbal note and a spicy saline minerality. It blossomed into honeysuckle, just ripe pineapple, a medley of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, cashew butter and raw almonds. Woven through every sip was a beautifully soft, silky and creamy texture enveloped with the freshness and juiciness of its acidity. Tempranillo Blanco can produce high alcohol w**es, this sits a little below at 13.5%. I loved everything about this, one of the most unique Australian w**es I’ve had lately.
