Sound on…

About last night….

Our Peninsula Providore Currency Creek grove is very close to the banks of the Tookayerta Creek and is where I call home.

Last night I got home and was delighted to hear this cacophony of frogs enjoying life. We had a lot of rain Monday, and I think the ducks and frogs and all manner of creatures are delighted.

In this crazy, fast paced world it’s nice to stop and appreciated the small things Mother Nature provides.

What a month!! The Fleurieu food Festival has a week left. But it’s not like the Fleurieu ever turns off its wonderful food, so come on down and visit.

The Peninsula Providore Farm Shop is open 5th and 6th September from 11am - 4pm. We’d love to see you for a regional produce platter and a glass of Precious Little Wine

Sometimes it’s the small things 🌺

I was heading out to check the rain gauge after the rain earlier in the week and stopped when I heard this.

Our almond tree is in blossom and absolutely humming with bees. The sound genuinely makes my heart sing.

We’re trying to work as regeneratively as we can across the farms, improving biodiversity, looking after our soils and creating an environment where insects, birds and all the other little things that make up a healthy ecosystem can thrive alongside us.

There’s always another job to do on a farm and running a small family business, and it’s very easy to walk or race straight past moments like this.

But today was a good reminder to stop for a minute, listen and notice the small things. They are often a good indication that something is going right. 🐝 🌺

It’s Fleurieu Food Festival time. Make sure you visit the Fleurieu this August.

The Fleurieu Food Festival is doing more than filling tables. It is creating winter visitation, encouraging regional exploration and connecting producers, growers, chefs, artists and hospitality businesses across the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Now in its fifth year, the volunteer-led festival features more than 100 experiences across August, with events spanning McLaren Vale, Willunga, Currency Creek, Yankalilla and beyond.

Our latest Coast Lines edition looks at the collaboration, provenance and regional pride behind the festival - and the role it plays in helping local businesses thrive through the quieter season.
