Biosecurity Queensland hosted a Biosecurity Forum with supply chain and service providers today in Toowoomba. Elected Representatives from the AgForce SEQ Council and also the AgForce Young Producers Council were in attendance along with Sheep Wool and Goats Policy Director Alexander. It was a great chance to hear from other organisations within the supply chain, other sectors and service providers, about how they are managing biosecurity risks within their business.

Ross Newman is an agricultural consultant and founder of Pastures To Prosperity, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in subtropical and tropical pasture systems across Australia and internationally. With a Bachelor of Applied Science in Rural Technology, Ross specialises in pasture agronomy, grazing systems, soil constraints and managing invasive species such as Giant Rat’s Tail grass, African lovegrass and Indian couch. His practical approach looks beyond simply controlling w**ds to understand what they reveal about pasture condition—helping producers build more productive, resilient and profitable grazing systems.
Ross’s presentation will challenge your thinking around What is the w**d trying to tell you? From 1 December, the workplace exposure limit for grain dust is due to fall from 4.0 mg/m³ to 1.5 mg/m³.

Grain Producers Australia is surveying farmers on how they measure and manage grain dust, and whether they were aware of the change. It takes about one minute.

The more farmers who respond, the stronger the case we can put to government on your behalf.

🎉 A year of leadership, change and momentum

This week marks one year since Niki Ford took the helm as AgForce CEO – and it’s certainly been a big 12 months.

In his latest column, AgForce General President Shane McCarthy reflects on a year of significant change, stronger advocacy and a renewed focus on delivering for Queensland producers. From the Critical Minerals Bill to the EPBC Act reforms, AgForce has been taking members’ concerns directly to decision-makers and pushing for practical outcomes.
