Many thanks to all who attended our Oktoberfest Committee Dinner last night!

The German themed menu and imported w**es attracted a great number of members filling the Reading and Billiards rooms for a wonderful evening of food, w**e and company.

Many thanks to Chef Craig and his team for the authentic menu and also to Shane and his front of house team for their excellent service during the evening.

BOOKINGS CLOSE TODAY for our Thistledown Grenache Small Plate Dinner.

Held on the eve of World Grenache Day, the evening will celebrate one of Australia’s most exciting and versatile varieties, with a selection of Thistledown w**es matched with a specially curated small-plate degustation.

Thistledown has recently received remarkable recognition, with their 2024 This Charming Man Single Vineyard Clarendon Grenache named the 2026 Halliday W**e Companion W**e of the Year, Red W**e of the Year and Grenache of the Year, receiving an outstanding 99 points.

While the 2024 vintage is sold out, we will be showcasing a selection of other Thistledown w**es throughout the evening, with the opportunity to order and pre-order additional vintages.

Please see the menu below, which has been carefully designed to complement the w**es and showcase the versatility of Grenache.

What a fantastic night at The Downs Club for our Jim Barry W**e Dinner 2026! 🍷

A beautiful evening of exceptional Clare Valley w**es, outstanding food and great company, with special guest Jane Ferrari.

From Hokkaido scallops and Sir Harry Wagyu oyster blade to 12-month aged Manchego and our final taste of Jim Barry Armagh Shiraz — it was a memorable journey from start to finish.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make tonight such a special evening. 🥂🍽️
