Today is one of the hardest days our family has ever faced.
Today should have been my dad Neil's birthday. Instead, we're mourning his loss after saying goodbye far too soon.
Neil wasn't just my father, he was a proud Grandad to our children and a quiet but important part of Grays Modern Meats.
Many of you may not have realised just how much he contributed behind the scenes over the years. He lovingly grew a lot of the fresh herbs that went into many of our products, was always willing to lend a hand around the shop, whether it be mowing the lawn or helping look after our kids while we worked and he was someone we could always rely on. He never looked for recognition, but his care, hard work and generosity helped make our business what it is today.
The coming days will be incredibly difficult as we navigate the loss of our dad and Grandad while also managing the many things that come with saying goodbye.
We ask for your patience and understanding if we're a little slower than usual over the next little while. Family comes first, and right now we're taking the time to honour a man who meant so much to us.
To everyone who has reached out with messages of support, thank you. Your kindness has meant more than you know.
Happy Birthday, Dad. We wish we were celebrating with you instead.
Thank you for everything you gave us, for your love, your quiet support, and for always being there when we needed you.
You will always be a part of Grays Modern Meats, and you will be deeply missed. ❤️
