Cool Beans Coffee Pod on Castle Hill will be closed for the weekends of 14–15 and 21–22 February 2026.

A touch of classic British weather today — perfect conditions for ducks!

Unfortunately, the weather has won this round, which means I’ll be closing around 11:30am. Any later and it may turn into a rather long swim home.

I’ll always do my best to open when I can, but every now and then I have to admit defeat. Here’s hoping 🤞 for better weather next weekend!

As 2025 draws to a close, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone—especially our valued customers—for the continued support of our small business throughout the year. We wish you all a very happy and safe New Year.

Unfortunately, despite our hopes for an improvement in the weather, conditions have once again prevailed. With most New Year’s Eve celebrations on The Strand (Townsville) cancelled, we have made the difficult decision not to open on Castle Hill tonight.

Weather permitting, we look forward to returning to Castle Hill on Saturday, 3 January 2026, and welcoming those beginning their New Year fitness journeys.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas 🎄.

We returned to Castle Hill today; however, we regrettably had to close earlier than planned due to the inclement weather conditions. The high humidity unfortunately impacted our equipment.

Please note that we will remain closed on Sunday, 28 December 2025, in line with the current adverse weather warnings.

Weather permitting, we are scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, 31 December (New Year’s Eve), from 6:00 pm to 12:30 am for those planning to enjoy the fireworks from Castle Hill.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

We have been trading for 7 weeks at the top of Castle Hill, and the feedback has been fantastic. Locals and tourists have taken full advantage of the coffee van and the seating area, which is really good to see. We love providing a service to locals, but it is also really good to meet people from around the world. We hope Niels, Ira and Vera enjoyed their stay in Townsville and had a safe journey back to Holland; it was lovely to meet them. On a separate note, Cool Beans Coffee Pod will not be open on Castle Hill on 29 and 30 November 2025. We apologise to all our customers for any inconvenience caused.

Cool Beans Coffee Pod is now open at the top of Castle Hill, Townsville, and we’ll be serving delicious refreshments there every weekend.

Our opening weekend was a great success, and we’re so grateful for all the positive feedback we received. A big thank you to everyone who came by to support us.

As new business owners, we want to assure you that if your drink isn’t quite right, we’ll happily remake it. Please let us know - we’d much rather fix it for you on the spot. Our goal is simple: to keep our customers happy! ☕️

To all of our valued customers and event organisers over the last few years, we would like to advise that we have sold our beloved coffee van. Coolbeans will now be operating in Townsville so if you up that way please pop by and say hello to Chris, the new owner of Coolbeans Coffee Pod. Please still follow and support Coolbeans on this page.
