OH NO.

Not this again.

Every single week we get to Thursday and suddenly everyone remembers they have birthdays, celebrations, visitors, work shouts, “just because” cake emergencies and a completely unreasonable expectation that we have a secret warehouse full of spare cakes hiding out the back.

We do not.

What we DO have is a very talented baker (ME!) a lot of butter, a lot of coffee and a rapidly filling order book.

So here’s your official warning…

🚨 WE ARE OPEN THURSDAY 🚨

And if you need cake this weekend, DO. NOT. WAIT.

Not until Friday.
Not until Saturday morning.
Not until you’ve asked three other places and discovered they’re booked too.

Come straight to us. We made the cake. We know where the cake lives. We are literally the source. 😌

Also…

What the actual hell was the week that was?!!!!

You lot have absolutely blown us away. The support, the orders, the sharing, the bringing your friends, the bringing your mum, the bringing your neighbour who “doesn’t even eat sweets” and then leaves with cake.

We see it all and we are ridiculously grateful.

Now, respectfully…

Stop scrolling.
Message us.
Order the cake.

Your future self deserves better than a servo muffin.

❤️🍰

See you Thursday. Bring friends. Leave with cake. That’s the deal. x

NEW HOURS INCOMING… AGAIN 😅

We had a plan.

Life laughed.

We regrouped.

Then life laughed again.

But somewhere between the school runs, the coffee pours, the cake orders, the family stuff and the million ideas constantly fighting for attention in my brain…

We’re finally getting there.

The truth is, this café was never built to fit neatly inside a business plan.

It was built around real life.

And real life can be messy as hell.

So thank you for sticking with us through the pivots, the false starts, the “not quite yets” and the constant evolution.

Because the next chapter is feeling pretty exciting.

More hours.
More cake.
More creativity.
More neighbourhood chaos. Cannot wait. You are welcome x

WTF WAS THAT WEEKEND?! 🤯❤️

I genuinely have no words… and if you know me, that’s saying something.

The sore feet are definitely sore.
The cake fridge is looking a little too empty.
The stock levels are making me extremely nervous for our new opening hours.

But my heart?

Absolutely bursting.

Every coffee ordered.
Every cake devoured.
Every kind word.
Every familiar face.
Every new face.
Every share, comment, recommendation and tag.

Thank you.

Small business can be a wild ride of early mornings, late nights, second guessing and wondering if anyone notices all the behind-the-scenes chaos.

This weekend reminded me that you do.

And for that, I am so incredibly grateful.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be over here frantically baking, restocking and trying to work out how on earth we’re going to do it all again next week and manage new hours. Chaos …. I ❤️ it!

From the bottom of my very tired but very happy heart… thank you. ❤️

You lot are unbelievable. K x

OH S**T.
Apparently it is once again time for this chaotic tiny business circus to reopen tomorrow from 8am.

Which means I am currently somewhere between:
• frantically baking orders
• writing seventeen new menu ideas in my notes app at 1am
• reorganising cabinets in my brain
• wondering if I’ve actually replied to anyone this week
• aggressively convincing myself sleep is optional.

I also haven’t even properly posted all week because your response to the last post absolutely floored me.

I’m still slowly making my way through DMs, comments and messages and honestly… thank you feels too small for what I’m trying to say.

So many of you shared your own stories, your fears, your chaos, your starts-again, your beautiful support and I’m sitting here reading them between baking batches feeling very emotional and not sufficiently caffeinated.

Anyway.
Tomorrow we go again.

Cabinets getting restocked.
Coffee pouring.
Cake chaos returning.
New things brewing in my head at alarming speed. Now to get them to a reasonable number. 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for being here while I figure it all out in real time.
See you from 8am Friends! Sleep well x

A POST THAT JUST MAY HELP SOMEONE ❤️

If you’re wondering whether you’re too tired, too old, too burnt out, or too scared to start again…

This is for you.

I’ve experienced the highest of highs in business.

Lines down the street. Ridiculous lines.
Bookings months in advance.
A thriving catering business.
A community I loved deeply. A Team that was Family.

And then I lost it all.

Legal battles.
Landlord bullying.
Watching my integrity questioned.
And most painfully, seeing my children impacted by something they should never have been part of.

Some say COVID broke them.

For me, COVID provided an ending.

And ending was easier than starting again.

Because starting again meant facing every fear:

What if I fail?
What if I lose everything again?
What if I put my family through this once more?
What if I’m too exhausted?
What if my neurodivergent brain, already living in burnout, simply can’t do this?

Opening NC was never just opening a café.

It was rebuilding through grief.

It was choosing courage over fear.

It was trusting that not every ending is the end of your story.

And then something beautiful happened.

People remembered.

“I remember your face.”
“I remember your laugh.”
“Where did you disappear to?”

Old customers found me again.
Some drove across town just to say hello, give me a hug, and remind me that what we created mattered here once and down south also.

It has taken more than five years to truly exhale.

But NC is proof that you are allowed to begin again.

Even when you’re exhausted.
Even when your confidence is shattered.
Even when your story feels too messy to explain.

Especially then.

So if you need a sign to keep going… this is it. K x

OH S**T.

It’s a new week.

And if you’re thinking,“Gee, Kylee seems suspiciously quiet…”

please know that behind the scenes it is absolute admin carnage and too many ideas all waiting to be executed impatiently.

📋 Orders to organise.📦 Supplies to wrangle.🧁 New things being tested.⏰ New hours incoming.📱 Messages to answer.🧠 Approximately 347 tabs open in my brain at all times.

Which means if you need cake this week…

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF BUTTER AND SANITY get your orders in ASAP so I can plan my extraordinarily busy week and not disappoint you by saying ummmmm nope, I really cannot do another thing this week if I want to do all the things I have planned asap.

A week which I am endlessly grateful for…even if I am running on caffeine, frosting, and the occasional emotionally supportive teary sit-down.

Seriously though — every single order, every coffee, every toastie, every “can you make me something delicious?” keeps this tiny business ticking and my teenage filled family fed.

And I do not take that lightly.

💛 Thank you for keeping me busy.💛 Thank you for choosing small.💛 Thank you for trusting me with your celebrations.

Now.

Can we also discuss what every small business owner in Australia is collectively thinking after last week’s budget announcement?

“Cool cool cool… so the cost of literally everything is still outrageous and we’re all just expected to continue performing financial gymnastics while smiling politely - surely the circus life is easier than this fu***ng s**t show and how the f**k are you people in charge of a country?”

Excellent.

Anyway.

I’ll be over here doing what small business owners do best -working ridiculous hours, making spreadsheets I don’t want to look at and channeling stress into happiness and love in crumb form.

Order early. Support small. Eat the fu***ng cake. Check in on a small business owner, we are dumbfounded and tired of BS.

Love you. Mean it. K xx

Well.

What. A. Weekend. 🩷🌸🎂

I started at 4am on Saturday… and somewhere between the mountains of cupcakes, boxed treats, cakes, slices, coffees, hugs and beautiful stories about mums, I completely lost all concept of time.

The next thing I knew, it was 2pm on Sunday and I was having a very glamorous little car nap wondering what on earth had just happened(and let me share I just do not pull up like I used to)😂

My heart is so incredibly full.

To every single person who pre-ordered, popped in, queued patiently, grabbed a last-minute sweet treat for Mum, shared our posts, tagged their friends, and supported our tiny business this Mother’s Day weekend…

Thank you. Wholeheartedly.

What started as “I’ll just put together a few nice things for Mother’s Day” turned into one of the busiest, most wonderful, most exhausting weekends we’ve ever had.

The cabinets were full.
The boxes were flying.
The ovens barely stopped.
And you lovely cake-loving humans showed up in the most overwhelming way.

I am absolutely, spectacularly exhausted… but also so incredibly deeply grateful.

This little business is built on very early mornings, very late nights, a lot of butter, and a community that continues to support every slightly unhinged idea I dream up.

And for that, I am endlessly thankful. 🩷

Now if anyone needs me, I’ll be somewhere horizontal for at least 17 business days (NOT) mum life beckons and sport and planning all the new things buainwss wise and life so see you Friday from 8!

With the happiest of hearts, very sore feet and a few aches I never knew existed.

Kylee x 🌸✨🧁💕

Okay… tiny update (and by tiny I mean… she escalated quickly) 💐

Mother’s Day pre-orders are closing TONIGHT.And not in a fake “we might extend” way…

Because I was going to extend it…and then you all came in and filled my inbox with ALL the orders and now we are… respectfully… nearly at capacity and I am still returning messages be it slowly 😅

Like… no proper photos posted no big song and dance just vibes, flour, and all of you going “yep I’ll have that, and can you make, can you add”

So here’s the plan for everyone who may miss out on preorders whatever we even posted what feels like an eternity ago👇

✨ FULL cabinets all weekend✨ Pretty boxed treats ready to grab and go for Mum✨ Walk in, choose your own adventure, look like you planned ahead. We know you did not but that will stay between us (we can be bribed FYI) Baking lists will be posted if you are a person who wants us to pop a selection aside.

It’s going to be stacked. No one is going without something cute.

ALSO — I want to make this weekend feel a little extra special…

Drop your favourite treats you want to see in cabinet ⬇️(I’m watching… and I will absolutely take it personally in a productive way)

AND… a little moment for the feels 🥹This weekend, ask your mum / nan / person for their favourite recipe + the story behind it.

We’re going to share some of them on our stories Saturday 💕because the best recipes are never just about the food.

Thank you for showing UP the way you always do.Truly… it means everything.

Now excuse me while I go bake like a woman possessed. K x
