🌟 Proud Moment for Mingara & Our Community 🌟

Mingara Recreation Club has been honoured as the winner of the Health Care category at the 2026 ClubsNSW Clubs & Community Awards! 🎉

This recognition celebrates our long-standing support of Elsie's Retreat Project - a powerful community-led initiative that has transformed access to palliative care on the Central Coast.

From a single conversation back in 2012, Elsie's Retreat Project has grown into a much needed reality for the Coast. The Gosford Palliative Care Unit opened in 2021, and has already supported more than 3,500 patients and families.

With a second unit at Wyong Hospital on the way and expanded services for all ages, this project continues to make a difference where it matters most. 💙

At Mingara, we're incredibly proud to have played a role in the project, contributing over $69,000 in cash and in-kind support since 2020 to help an inspirational group of people turn a shared vision into meaningful care for our region.

This award belongs to the entire local community - the partners, advocates, volunteers and supporters who made it possible.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Mingara has been honoured with The Salvation Army’s prestigious Others Award.

This recognition celebrates an extraordinary commitment to supporting others and making a meaningful impact in the community which is something that sits right at the heart of everything we do.

For over 2 decades, Mingara is proud to have an ongoing partnership with the Salvation Army to help create positive changes right here on the Central Coast.

We were absolutely thrilled to welcome some of the beautiful dogs from Doggie Dates Pet Therapy to the club last week 🐾

These incredible dogs and their dedicated owners volunteer their time to support mental health and encourage social connection - making a difference one visit, one walk, and one cuddle at a time.

We are also proud to share that through our latest ClubGRANTS round, we have donated $10,000 to support this amazing organisation. This funding will help provide discounted sessions for vulnerable groups, as well as cover essential training, equipment, insurance, and administrative costs. This helps Doggie Dates to ensure safe, high-quality pet therapy continues to reach those who need it most in our local community and beyond. A big round of a-paws to Lucy, Lily, Bindy, Shelly and Beau for brightening our day and bringing so many smiles to Mingara 🐶💜

Thank you to our incredible community as we raised over $1,900 at our Biggest Morning Tea event in Hadley's! We’re so grateful to everyone who came together to support those impacted by cancer 🍰✨
