We're on, 1pm at the brewery. Today's theme is "Brew on someone else's gear", so Kurt has offered to bring in his kit to brew a hazy IPA. Come along and grab the recipe, and take home the ingredients you need to brew it yourself! Also - very important - bring in some of your own home brew for the crew to taste and discuss!

The latest batch has been named "Don't squeeze my bag". This name was voted favourite suggestion by the members, and is reference to not wanting to squeeze the muslin grain bag when removing it from the pot after mashing in BIAB method. It is tempting to squeeze the bag, trust me. You just want to get all of those sugary juices out, BUT squeezing the bag too much can result in the addition of fine grain particles that can lead to haze but also can scorch in the boil. Our first session for 2026 was a cruisy sesh. We brewed a SMASH beer (single malt and single hop) as a way to show how little ingredients you need to make a nice easy drinking beer. We tasted a couple of Callans brews and another iteration of Kurt Hazy IPA. We made a few plans for 2026, including the very exciting brew of lucys winning stout "13 cats"
