NOTE: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
The difference between frozen and fresh durian can vary quite substantially in terms of flavour intensity, sweetness and bitterness. Frozen Durian (especially Musang King) imported into Australia usually tends to have been harvested from younger trees that produce a sweeter palette with little/or no bitter aftertaste.
The Fresh D197 Musang King Durian from the Newleaf (Malaysia) Plantation comes from very mature trees; hence we are advising customers TO EXPECT a full bodied fresh durian experience with a 'STRONG BITTERSWEET' Aftertaste from Newleaf's D197 Musang King pulp.

The 'Bitterness' Scale:
D197 Musang King - (3-to-6 Out of 10) Bitterness Level
D200 Black Thorn - (2-to-4 Out of 10) Bitterness Level
D24 Sultan - (1-to-3 Out of 10) Bitterness Level

Please be mindful when ordering If you are not familiar with consuming FRESH Malaysian Durians with a strong bittersweet aftertaste.

Update 4 - Shipment Arrival!

We have just received confirmation the shipment has cleared customs and quarantine and is ready for dispatch from the Airport Freight Holding Facility.

Unfortunately As our Upper Mount Gravatt Store is closed today as per usual. All orders will be moved to our Algester store for pickup today.

Update 3 - Delayed Customs & Quarantine Clearance.

We have just been informed that Unfortunately the shipment wasn’t able to be cleared today for release. We are chasing this issue up with our customs broker and they expect the shipment to be cleared tomorrow morning.

Rest assured the durians will be stored in a temperature controlled storage facility at the airport whilst the shipment awaits clearance. We have been assured by the NewLeaf plantation that the extra night the durians will spend in storage will not affect/deteriorate the quality of the durians.

We will have another update tomorrow morning when the shipment gets released.

Once we have the green light for shipment release we will update again on when you can come collect your orders. UPDATE 1 - Adjusted Shipment arrival date (Diwali Public Holiday)

We have Just been informed that due to staff shortages at the airport and the Diwali Public Holiday in Malaysia today, our shipment has been postponed for departure Malaysia tomorrow instead, with arrival being the following day Wednesday 22nd October 2025. *Fingers crossed 🤞 * Customs and quarantine inspection is smooth going, we should have orders ready for our pickup that same afternoon.

Furthermore, the punnets that were originally packed for tonight’s flight will be sold thru the domestic market. And a new batch will be harvested early tomorrow morning for tomorrow’s flight.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
