The name Langi Ghiran comes from the local dialect of the Djab Wurrung people, meaning “home of the yellow‑tailed black cockatoos”. The birds remain a familiar presence in the landscape today.

Vintage 2026 is underway... slowly

With only 15% of grapes harvested and in the winery, it's been a slow start. It's this long, slow ripening of our grapes, particularly Shiraz, that contributes to the development of a stunning range of fruit flavours, perfumes, pepper and spice that are harnessed in the winery creating graceful wines of depth and detail.

Autumn has arrived in the vineyards, bringing cooler nights and dewy mornings.

In the vineyards, we implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to minimise vineyard inputs and encourage beneficial and predator insect activity, keeping our vines healthy and in good company.

Every year at MLG, International Women’s Day gives us a chance to slow down and listen to the people who make this place what it is. Rather than telling a polished story, we asked the women across our vineyard, winery and café to share their own experiences in their own words — what they’ve learned, who has helped them, and what working in wine looks and feels like to them.
