💍 THE KNOT IS TIED! ❤️

Well, the big boss has officially put a ring on it! 😂🥂

After a few days away marrying my beautiful wife and enjoying a little time away together, it’s back to reality and straight into the shop!

A massive thank you to everyone who helped out and held the fort while I was away. Now it’s time to roll the sleeves up, sharpen the knives and get stuck into what’s always one of our busiest times of the year… CHRISTMAS! 🎄🥩

The honeymoon might be over, but the Christmas rush is only just beginning! 😂

Thanks as always for supporting our little local business. We can’t wait to look after you all in the lead-up to Christmas!

💍 THE BIG BOSS IS CLOCKING OFF! 😂

After what feels like forever, I’m finally getting married on Tuesday! 🥳❤️

So, I’ll be taking a well-earned week off and heading up to the Whitsundays for the rest of the week to celebrate (and hopefully not think about sausages for a few days 😂).

While I’m away, Jacob and Rob will be running the show at Valentine Butchers and looking after you all.

So please make their lives as difficult as possible while I’m gone… I need to make sure they appreciate me when I get back. 😂😂

📢 SHOP HOURS

We’ll be CLOSED Monday 5th October for the public holiday.

Then we’ll be OPEN AS PER USUAL from Tuesday 6th October, with Jacob & Rob holding the fort while I’m away.

🚨 THE APPRENTICE HAS FINALLY TURNED 18 🚨

And somehow, on the exact same day, I’ve turned 31. 😂

I’ve spent the last few months training this bloke, watching him come a bloody long way, work his arse off and do more for me and the shop than he probably realises.

So naturally, to celebrate his 18th, I’ve given him the REST OF THE WEEK OFF.

What a generous boss. ❤️

…Or maybe I just wanted a few days of peace and quiet. 😂

Seriously though mate, you’ve come a bloody long way and I couldn’t be happier with the worker you’ve become. You’re always willing to help, you work hard and I genuinely appreciate everything you’ve done for me and the shop.

Now for the important part…

I only have TWO embarrassing photos of you.

But after staring at them for long enough, I’ve decided that two is plenty. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

FROM ONE JOB TO THE NEXT 🥩👷‍♂️

A little bit of real talk from behind the scenes of running a small business.

A lot of people see you own a business and think, “You must be doing alright… you own your own business.”

The reality can be very different.

I don’t work two jobs because I enjoy being exhausted or because I’ve got nothing better to do. I do it because I’ve got a family to provide for, bills to pay and a business that needs to keep moving forward.

Small business isn’t always the big pay cheque, fancy cars and plenty of spare time that people sometimes imagine it to be. There are wages, rent, electricity, stock, equipment, insurance, taxes, suppliers, bank fees, repairs and a million other expenses that people never see.

Some weeks are great. Some weeks are bloody tough.

But we keep showing up.

We keep unlocking the doors, serving our customers, putting quality product in the cabinet and doing everything we can to build something we can be proud of.

And that’s why supporting your local small businesses really does matter.

Every purchase, every recommendation, every person who chooses to shop local instead of going elsewhere — it genuinely makes a difference.
