The Pirate's Seachest Fresh fish and seafood, caught in our South Coast waters. We do our best to have the freshest local Call in and see our fishing boats!

Owner, Rod Ness, is a commercial fisherman who has been fishing locally and State-wide and has been selling fish in the Victor Harbor area for a number of years. The Pirate’s Seachest was established in 2011 at the request of locals who wanted to be able to buy fish direct from the fisherman and know that it was local, fresh and sourced sustainably. Over the years our shop has grown from a small s

ales area to a fully lined and air conditioned large shop. The Pirate’s Seachest prides itself in offering quality fresh local seasonal fish and seafood to its customers at competitive prices. This, together with our friendly service, makes for a great experience when purchasing your seafood. Our range includes local whole fish and fillets, Coffin Bay oysters, Spencer Gulf king prawns, crayfish, scallops, smoked fish, squid, bugs, crabs, home-made marinara mix, pickled products, home baked seafood pies and fish cakes and much more. If we don’t have it readily available for you, we will do our best to source it. Orders always welcome and we will deliver locally if you can’t make the trip to us. We have been overwhelmed by the support and wishes shown to us from everyone with the announcement of closing our shop front 🙏

We don't want to disappoint or let down our customers so we have decided that we will:
- have a run out sale of our frozen product and existing stock including honey 🍯and plastic containers in the next couple of weeks
- open for short periods each fortnight for people to pick up frozen product (park in the gym car park and entry will be through the back gate).
- be taking orders for Christmas 🧑‍🎄for pick up only.

Available to order for Christmas will be fresh crays, SA prawns and oysters, limited fresh fish etc. 🐟🦐🦞Pick up will be at set days and times leading up to Christmas - watch this space over the next couple of months for updates on how and what you can order.

📢 Important Update

After much consideration, we have made the difficult decision that the shop will not be re-opening.

Like many small businesses, we have faced increasing challenges in recent years. Combined with changes that have made it more difficult for small businesses to operate and remain viable, we have decided it is the right time to close this chapter.

We would like to sincerely thank all of our customers, friends and supporters for your loyalty and support over the years. We have truly appreciated your business and the many friendships we've made along the way.

We still have a limited quantity of frozen cryovac fish and prawns available. If you would like to purchase any, please ring Rod to arrange an appointment for pick-up.

🎣 What's next?
• Rod will continue fishing and running charters.
• From time to time, locally caught fresh fish will be available for sale.
• Any available fish will be advertised on the board out the front, so keep an eye out.

Thank you again for your support over the years. We look forward to seeing many of you on the water in the future and continuing to provide locally caught seafood when available.
