Solanum centrale or Bush Tomato grows in the central deserts. Our Bush Tomato is picked by the local traditional owners east and west of Alice Springs and sent down to us on a Greyhound bus. It has a delicious caramel sundried tomato flavour and makes the most amazing relish and seasoning or you can buy it whole or ground in its pure form.

Native Pepperberries Tasmannia insipida growing in the rainforest on our farm at Kurrajong Heights. These little purple berries are hot and spicy with a slow burn which comes on strong over the first minute of tasting them. The taste however is better in this plants sister Tasmannia lanceolata so this is what we grow on our farm we have over 400 of them planted but they are only tiny.

This year we helped with some important research on Australian native stingless bees and pollination of finger limes on our farm. About 1,000 of these tiny exclusion bags were applied to the flowers and monitored over 9 months to gauge the effectiveness of different pollinators on fruiting performance. We have 2 hives of native bees but there are loads of them in the forest surrounding our farm so it was very interesting and satisfying to be involved.

We have been planting! About a weeks work to prepare the soil into terraces and plant seedless riberry Syzigium leuhmanii, smooth davidsons plums, bower spinach and sea parsley on the farm. In the last 18 months Lee has planted over 7,000 native foods on the farm revegetating the new factory site.

Gorgeous Fringed Lily! Thysanotus tuberosus These little darlings have crunchy edible tubers but the flowers really brighten up your day. I have just planted 30 of these on the bushtucker walk at our new factory construction site on the farm
