Riverdene Stud sire Dissident has a headline horse racing in Hong Kong and building an imposing record under the guidance of leading trainer Frankie Lor. Voyage Samurai, a 5-year-old gelding formerly named Dissox, has now won four of his seven starts, also finishing runner-up at his other three outings — all of his racing to date having been seen at Sha Tin.

Voyage Samurai’s latest victory saw him score over 1600m as the 9/5 favourite. His formline now reads 1212121, having commenced his HKJC career with a debut victory over 1400m in February of this year.

Voyage Samurai is rapidly making his way through the Classes in Hong Kong. His rating figure has risen from 52 on debut to 76 with his latest win. He is the fourth foal of Love Commands, a winning daughter of Commands, and a half-brother to the multiple stakes winning mare Sky Command from the family of Group 1 Emirates Stakes winner Sky Cuddle.

Progeny of DISSIDENT and SIZZLING won races worth a collective $49,000 over the long weekend with both of the two Riverdene Stud stallions posting a double.

Most notably, SIZZLING gelding Dissalto won a $20,000 maiden at the annual Gold Cup meeting staged by the Gunbower Racing Club which looked a great day out.

Well done to the small Victorian township of just 253 people on holding such a valuable day of racing!

It was a Coffs Harbour double for Riverdene Stud resident stallions on Sunday with Vocation winning for the progeny of SIZZLING and My Mate Cobber saluting for the DISSIDENT breed … the latter taking his earnings through the six-figure mark in the process.

And this is worth noting … DISSIDENT was also sire of a winner on the Selangor-Malaysia program on the same afternoon when Shang Chi recorded win No.6.

Progeny of DISSIDENT and SIZZLING are never too long out of the winner's enclosure no matter where you are in the thoroughbred world!

Dashing Rebel became winner No. 280 for Riverdene Stud resident stallion DISSIDENT at Warracknabeal on Saturday when proving to be the first leg of a double for jockey Ms Christine Puls and co-trainers Brian & Ashley McKnight.

A model of consistency, this 6-year-old has now either won or placed at seven of his past nine starts — having faced the starter on no fewer than 12 occasions since the start of the year.

Dashing Rebel is bred on the same DISSIDENT-Fastnet Rock cross as the stakes performer Outlandos, winner of 7 races from 1200m to 2600m and $767,240.

Bought by Ash as a weanling, a big strong c**t by Dissident he saw an athlete in the making. He hasn't been straightforward, with soundness issues throughout his career but the team are doing a great job managing him these days.

Superb ride from Christine Puls who has ridden him at most of his starts and he responds so well to her urging.

Six placings from eight starts before today and now reward for all that effort with a well-earned victory.

Breednet tweeted on Saturday … 86th season winner for Dissident with this debutant.

First starter Rebel Exe scored a determined victory at Mildura at her first race start and looks a bright prospect for Lindsey Smith Racing Stables and her prominent connections.

The filly is a full-sister to dual Group 2 winner Yes Baby Yes and became individual winner No. 278 for the Riverdene Stud resident stallion standing season 2024 at just $5500 (inc GST) payable on Live Foal terms.

Badiss became the third son of DISSIDENT to salute in the past few days and land a nice winner's cheque for his connections after being a very reasonably priced online purchase in the recent past.

The 5YO was bought for just $22,500 in April 2023 and today landed a $50,000 event at Gawler worth $27,300 to the winner. That sum took his overall earnings to $138,225 — $64,725 of that figure coming after his Inglis online purchase.

And Badiss didn't just win today … he trounced his 13 rivals by no less than 8 lengths. He's now won 6 of his 32 starts having also placed on another nine occasions.
