We are the first Commercial Poultry Producer to provide Grain Free Chickens Australia wide: Our Chickens are Non Grain Fed - Free Range - Pasture Reared - Naturally Fed - Antibiotic Free - GM Free - Gluten Free. Amongst other poultry, we raise our own heirloom heritage breed of chickens. These chickens are not raised in 6 weeks like the supermarket chickens, our slow growing natural chickens take
around 15 weeks before they are ready to be butchered. With recent studies showing the dangers associated with excess linoleic acid from excessive grain feeding in chickens, we decided to get together with a researcher and look further into the matter. We truly decided that we want what's best for our families and for our customers. We are the first in Australia to produce Non-Grain Fed, Free Range, Pasture Reared, Naturally Fed, Antibiotic Free, GM Free and Gluten Free Delicious Chickens. We remember as kids, when our parents would feed our chickens scraps from the kitchen and our healthy chooks would forage all day for worms and insects. We also remember how good these chickens tasted because they were not on a grain-fed diet. Marc, our head Chicken Farmer, has revolutionised the way of incubating and producing insects in proportion to our Chickens dietary requirements along with bugs, worms and high quality veggies and grasses. We are honoured to have done the research and the hard work to bring you the tastiest, healthiest, non grain fed, free range, pasture reared, naturally fed, antibiotic free, GM and TRULY Gluten free chickens in Australia (it's worth saying this twice). Grain Free Chickens Australia - Why We Don't Grain-Feed Our Chooks
Chickens originate from the Red Jungle Fowl (Gallus Gallus) of South East Asia where their diet consisted of worms, insects, bugs, small frogs and even tiny mammals such as baby mice along with grasses, fruits, tubers and roots. Chickens are foragers and survive on protein, fat and carbohydrates. Red Jungle Fowl have a gizzard like many, but not all, domestic chickens. This gizzard exists because chickens do not have a complex stomach or long digestive tract so, if they come across something that is hard to digest it will get ground up within the gizzard or will be passed out. In some cases a chicken will take gravel or small stones into their gizzards in order to assist with difficult to digest foods like small bones, hard insects and seeds from fruit. Typically, a chickens natural diet DOES NOT include cereal grains. The Benefits of Non Grain Fed Chickens
When a Chicken is not fed grains and grain pellets containing soy, corn, wheat, etc, it is truly a "Gluten Free" Chicken. Chickens that are fed on grains and grain pellets also build up Linoleic Acid in their cells and tissue. Linoleic Acid is a polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) that, in excess, is harmful to human mitochondria. More and more people are aware of the effects of excess PUFA's in the human diet. Sources reveal that a meat chicken contains more PUFA's than is found in a bottle of canola oil. Besides, you will notice the difference in the taste of our quality birds. A Gluten Free roast chook like you've never had before.
