What's not to love about our gorgeous Santa Gertrudis and their superpower of being "Wash and Wear Cattle"?

Start off with a soapy wash and a thorough rinse, squeegee off the excess water and a quick drip dry. Followed closely by a quick spritz of show shine and brush down. No clipping or blow-drying necessary. Winner!

Add a well oiled show halter and lead. Then out into the show ring led by the handler/parader who follows the chief stewards instructions where the over judge and the audience can check'em out! (And hopefully we show the best of our breeding and are rewarded with a place and a ribbon!)

In the case of these boys, it will be the 2023 Santa Gertrudis Junior National Show in Warwick, Queensland and being billeted steers for participants in Junior Parading in a few weeks.

Just a photo of a few of our Tools of the Trade for preparing our stunning Santa Gertrudis cattle for the show ring!

Curry combs, magic blocks, soft brushes and show canes stored in an upcycled wire storage basket and a couple of holders made from old aboveground pool uprights attached to the cattle rail.

Our Show Grooming Supply Station is located on the outside of the cattle yards and very handy to where our show team are learning the ropes of being halter trained and safely tied up. And more importantly, it keeps the gear neat and tidy with full visibility in case any Eastern Brown Nope Ropes are loitering in the nearby vicinity!

(The coloured plastic tubes in the holders are used as arm extensions when we are moving the stock in the yards using Low Stress Stock Handling.)
