Our popular Wednesday morning market is officially in safe hands and will continue to operate thanks to the efforts of our dedicated group of stall holders and support from Mackay Regional Council.
The markets will continue to be held each Wednesday from 6:30am-10:30am at the Blue Water Quay. We want to thank the ongoing support from our community who's hunger for quality, fresh and seasonal produce and products has not gone unnoticed.
It's school holidays this week and we cant wait to see you Wednesday morning with your families and friends as we continue to connect you with artisan foods sold by our regions finest growers and makers at Mackay's only authentic farmers market.

Love all the citrus that's coming on at the moment. These gorgeous long lemons (citrons) have a prized aromatic yellow skin perfect for zesting and its antibiotic qualities. In comparison to our Tahitian limes are these unusual red limes with pulp similar to finger limes.

Would you like to join our team? We have a casual position open with us 6-14 hrs a week as our Farmers Market Operations Coordinator

You will work closely with the Marketing and Events Coordinator to operate a weekly farmers' market. This role will involve a wide range of activities including administration, community engagement, marketing and promotion, communication, reporting and compliance. You will assist the organisation to achieve its weekly famers’ market operations by maintaining a professional, friendly and efficient disposition and a covid safe event.

Selection Criteria - Applicants need to demonstrate:
• High level of energy and enthusiasm
• Early riser (6:30am start)
• Confident, motivated attitude
• Clear and honest communication skills
• Relevant events/market experience
• Ability to work productively as part of a small team
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• People management skills including conflict resolution
• Advanced computer and office management skills (iPad, square)
• Professional presentation and manner

Experience that would be an advantage:
• An understanding of regional food systems
• Experience working in community/volunteer organisations
• WH&S experience

Hours: Minimum 6 hours and up to14 hours per week with markets operating every Wednesday 6:30-10 am
(4:45-10:30- bumpin/out).
