We’re proud to have recently completed Stage 1 of the Roma Echidnas Rugby Union Club field renewal and drainage construction, creating the first-ever TifTuf field in Central Queensland.
This field took some serious work. 2,600m of drainage, 1,500 tonnes of specially blended sand, and 9,600m² of washed TifTuf. After all that, relaxing on the clubhouse deck and watching the new irrigation system run across the finished surface was extremely rewarding.
It wasn’t all smooth sailing with almost 500km of travel and 100mm of rain during shaping and final trim definitely kept us on our toes, but teamwork made it all possible. Huge thanks to the dedicated club volunteers and the Maranoa Regional Council for helping get the turf laid.
Now we’re excited to roll into Stage 2, with the training field scheduled for planting in around 10 days.
