Bastow’s farm

Bastow’s farm Sara’nJimby Downs is the Bastow‘s farm in Wagerup. Since 2006 it has been our home away from home and we now graze a few cows and sheep.

But really it’s something of a petting zoo too.

Vincent: “Yippee! Found the carrots, Peppa. Peppa? Hey Peppa?

Peppa: “Yippee! Found the open gate. Vincent, catch up and forget the carrots”.

Life lesson: Live life like someone left the gate open. There’s no feeling like it🥰 Forget the carrots. Really, forget them😉

Well this is the donkey version of that Play school favourite. It goes like this, “when you’re happy and you know it shout ‘I’m being slowly and brutally murdered…”.
The singer is Anzac, who, with his slightly less needy companion, Buttercup, is new to Bastow’s Farm. Our old donkey, Puffy, lost her companion, Daniel, some time ago and with no one else speaking ‘donkey’ on the farm, there was no option but to find others conversant in this unique language.

Bonfire on a still Autumn night is lovely until it isn’t. Nothing like screaming ‘white rabbit’ at a fire bigger than you are. Pretty happy with my performance though (and that of the rabbit) tonight. Saved James, Sarah,Jim and Indie from smoke stink in their hair. Well done me (and the 🐇 )🤗
