🍇 W**E PYRENEES MEMBERS BACK THE GRAPES OF AVOCA
W**e Pyrenees members including Peerick have overwhelmingly endorsed The Grapes of Avoca in the public vote to select the new gateway sculpture for Avoca and the Pyrenees W**e Region.
85% of our members responding to our survey supported The Grapes of Avoca. We hope you will to.
Why?
Because we believe it tells an instantly recognisable and unmistakable Pyrenees story.
The sculpture will transform reclaimed agricultural plough discs donated by local farming families into a large bunch of grapes — creating a direct connection between the farming heritage on which our communities were built and the vineyards and w**e industry that are such an important part of the Pyrenees today.
It is also a genuinely community-led project involving local artist Andy Ferguson, Robbie Allen of Pyrenees Building Group, Doova Engineering, builders, tradespeople, farmers, businesses and other local participants.
From our farming heritage to our w**e future.
We believe The Grapes of Avoca has the potential to become much more than an entrance sculpture. It could become a distinctive regional landmark — something visitors photograph, remember and associate with the Pyrenees W**e Region.
The final decision belongs to the community and we encourage everyone to look at both finalists and have their say.
Voting closes today Friday 11 September.
