Grow With Me: Foxglove Dalmatian Peach

Little fairy houses on tall stems. How could I not love them?

Why I love them:

• Peachy bells, speckled throats and tall flower spikes bring so much whimsy to the cutting garden. They add a beautiful height to a bunch.

• A fairytale flower with a serious little footnote: foxgloves are poisonous if eaten, so keep them away from curious little mouths and pets.

Grow With Me: Snapdragon Cool 1 & 2 Orange

Why I love her:

• Those sunset shades of orange and pink are absolute perfection. A little sunset growing right here on the farm.

• She likes it cool. This variety is bred for flowering in cooler conditions, making her a lovely addition to our spring flowers.

• Ever wondered about the name? Gently squeeze the sides of a flower and her little dragon mouth opens. Pretty AND entertaining.

Do these colours remind you of a sunrise or a sunset?

Grow With Me: Hot Pink Bon Bon Ranunculus

If Barbie had a flower farm, she’d be growing this girl.

WHY I LOVE HER:

• That Barbie-girl PINK. She's bright baby!!

• The SIZE. Big, cupped blooms that open to the size of my palm, packed with layers upon layers of fine, ruffled petals.

• First to the party. Even when planted at the same time as our other ranunculus, Bon Bon is always the first ranunculus to flower here on our farm.

• Bonbon means “sweet” in French. Saying it makes me feel fancy.

Grown here at Bunches Flower Farm from corms purchased from Field & Foliage | Elliot Moore Thank- you Elliot!

Grow With Me: Yellow Giallo Ranunculus

If sunshine grew on a stem, surely it would look like this.

WHY I LOVE HER:

• That bright yellow colour. Giallo means yellow in Italian, and she’s certainly living up to her name. A new variety on the farm this season, bringing a very cheerful energy.

• The anticipation. Being a new variety I was waiting patiently to see her in bloom. Planted here in autumn, cared for through winter and finally showing off in spring. Months of waiting for these golden girls!

Do you love yellow or is Giallo too banana big bird for you?

Grow With Me: Apricot Iron Stock

WHY I LOVE HER:

• Stock seeds germinate so easily, and she’s one of the early bloomers on the farm.

• She’s called Apricot, but throws the prettiest soft pink tones too.

• I have learnt to plant her densely, and she’s given me gorgeous long stems this season.

• Incredible vase life of 2 weeks and then some and THAT smell always!! Sweet, spicy, clovey goodness!

WOULD I GROW AGAIN? Every day of the week!

Don't hesitate to start growing stock flower!
