These chrysanthemums just keep on blooming! I’m not surprised given most of our trees haven’t even started losing their leaves yet! Anyone else’s gardens completely confused by the weather as well?

Our urban flower farm in early winter. It might not look like much right now, but there’s lots of spring seedlings planted out and putting on growth, and more seeds waiting to be started.

These chrysanthemums didn’t appear to get the memo that our flower season is over until Spring, they just keep on blooming. While we don’t have any flowers to sell until they start blooming in August/September, it’s still a very busy time of year. Current jobs include digging up dahlia tubers, collecting seeds, clearing beds, prepping and replanting beds with seedlings and constant seed starting. It’s going to be a blooming beautiful spring 🌱

The aftermath of Mother’s Day.

Thank you thank you so much to everyone who chose our flowers for gifting this Mother’s Day. Whether you preordered for pick up from the verandah, purchased from or found us at , your support means everything to this family business and enables us to keep growing each year 💕 A massive thanks also goes to and , I couldn’t have done this Mother’s Day without the extra flowers from these beautiful growers, and to my own wonderful Mum who picked buckets of foliage and brought them and the flowers from Hillview down to me saving me so much time, and to Dad for being Mum’s helper ✨ I also couldn’t have done this without the support of my own wonderful husband for being chief child wrangler so that I could concentrate on flowers, and for keeping me fed! (And also for delivering my bag to Gilles for me when I completely forgot about it 🤦‍♀️)

We have one last market this coming Sunday at to finish up our growing season before taking a break to focus on being ready for spring flowers in August/September 🌸

night market this Saturday! It will be our last Gilles market for the season as our flowers will finish up over the next couple of weeks, so make sure you come say hi and pick up some Mother’s Day flowers while you’re there, or for yourself 💕 I’ve absolutely loved being a regular part of the Gilles family this growing season, and while I’m sad that this Saturday will be the last market this season, I also can’t wait to be back in Spring once the flowers start blooming again!

Cloverlea Companion, one of my favourite chrysanthemums, finally starting to flower just in time for Mother’s Day. It might not be big and showy, but it’s always reliable and just such a cheerful flower 💛

This year for Mother’s Day we’ve teamed up with two other wonderful growers, in Rostrevor and in Mylor to bring you even more locally grown seasonal flowers to gift the Mum/s in your life. If your Mum loves flowers, there’s no better gift than truly local seasonal flowers 💐

Preorders for pick up from the verandah honesty stall will close next Friday, so if you’re planning on ordering please do it this week. Pick up will be on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May. There will be limited bunches available on the stall for purchase over the weekend. We’ll also be making a delivery of our beautiful bunches to on Friday 8th May and taking as many bunches as I can fit in the car to for their Mothers Day night market on Saturday 9th May from 3pm. Both locations are also ideal for any last minute present shopping and are my favourite places to shop 💕
