The Cabal was founded as a means to fill this vacancy, and offer to the public of Melbourne, a venue that will play exclusively underground music. First and foremost, The Cabal is not a nightclub. The event will be held at De Ja Vu Bar, formerly known as Biero. One of the most memorable things about seeing live music is not necessarily the band one goes to watch. It is the conversations, discussio
ns and levity one experiences with like minded individuals in the crowd, either in the venue itself or in the drinking stalls. We all share the same passion for the music, and The Cabal is an attempt to recreate this atmopshere without such excesses as spending money on missing the majority of a band's set. If you have ever found yourself paying as much attention to the social side of the underground as the music itself, then The Cabal will cater for you on both accounts. Whilst the music may be considered exlusive in a certain context, the door policy is openly inclusive, as there is no cover charge, and a welcome invitation to anyone who truly appreciates underground metal to attend. This will be a monthly event held on the first Saturday of each month, providing like minded fans of the underground a forum to relish in, with a great atmosphere, great booze and most of all great music that may not have been audible anywhere except your home/car/personal stereo.
