The true measure of a cow family isn't what one cow achieves.
It's whether the next generation can do it again.
Following our recent posts on N12 and N13, it's time to introduce one of the females carrying that legacy forward.
**Barnett Aussie Girl S182.**
A direct daughter of N12, S182 has already produced 17 registered progeny, with the majority arriving this year through our ET programe (and more to come this spring!)
What excites us most isn't simply the number of calves.
It's the consistency of the results.
Across multiple sire groups, the same pattern continues to emerge. Strong growth. High profitability. Sound structure. Different matings producing the same outcome.
The numbers help tell the story.
Of S182's 17 registered progeny:
• 13 rank in the top 5% of the breed for 600-day growth
• 12 rank in the top 5% for Angus Breeding Index
• 11 rank in the top 5% for Heavy Grain Index
• 10 rank in the top 5% for Heavy Grass Index
• 14 rank in the top 10% for Docility
When we evaluate S182's progeny, we aren't looking at one standout individual carrying the averages.
We're seeing repeatability.
The majority of her calves are performing at an elite level for growth and profitability, regardless of the sire used. That level of consistency is difficult to achieve and even harder to ignore.
For us, that is the hallmark of an influential female.
Not a cow that produces one exceptional calf.
A cow that consistently produces good ones.
N12 helped establish one of the most productive cow families within the BarnettAngus program.
Now, through daughters like S182, we're beginning to see the next chapter unfold.
Strong cow families aren't built in a single generation.
They're built when daughters become donors, donors become cow families, and consistency becomes predictable.
Seventeen progeny is still only the beginning of S182's story, but when such a high proportion are already ranking among the breed's elite, it gives us plenty of confidence about what lies ahead.
We're excited to watch her influence continue to grow, but the early signs suggest the future of the Barnett Aussie Girl family is already on the ground.
