This year is different. Although I (Colleen) co-own this business with my husband (Tristen) I do it all and he does the heavy lifting, building and fixing when he’s actually home otherwise, it’s me and the kids that have to work it out 😃

So I don’t get overwhelmed and lose my sanity completely this year everything is via the website please. If it’s sold out then no I can’t magically have 1 available within 30mins unless of-course it’s before 10am and I haven’t checked for eggs yet. If it’s a chick you want then it’s definitely NOT available.

You may have noticed I am slower to reply, that’s because either i haven’t seen the notification because I get no word of a lie 300 notifications every few hours, sometimes inboxes get lost. I’m shoulders deep in s**t *literally*, I’m having a busy/hard day with the kids or my neurodivergent brain has lost the plot.
I also don’t reply to business messages after 6pm, just like how once you knock off from work you don’t either.

Breeds are separate but colours are mixed so it will be an interesting mix of colours.

Pickup is still available
Delivery is also available for eggs and chicks

No we can’t tell the s*x of chicks & eggs
No we don’t buy back roosters (They may be surrendered back but their fate can’t be guaranteed)
We are not growing out chicks for the pullet market.

H5N1 what is it? It’s a contagious avian bird flu that causes lethargy, dramatic drop in food consumption and egg production, respiratory distress, swelling around head and eyes and purple discolouration of wattles and combs.
Transmitted via contact with an infected bird or its bodily fluids.
To prevent infection; prevent contact with contaminated birds and their droppings. Fully enclose your birds, treat tank water, disinfect your shoes and clothes.

We are in lockdown, full biosecurity protocols in place. Chooks are fully enclosed and we limit our interaction with them as well as disinfecting our shoes between coops.

We are going with the flow, we are not taking orders but business continues so fertility testing is still undergoing.
We have paused purchasing birds and eggs. We have a few more eggs in transit to us, but we are not ordering anymore.

Catch you this Sunday at the Whittlesea & Northern Districts Helmsman poultry auction.
Looking like 28 degrees and hopefully the rain stays away not like last years auction.

We will have a limited range of products however, if you would like to order anything in particular or large quantities of a product contact us to place your order before Wednesday 10am and we will order it and bring it for you on Sunday.
