Potato appreciation post 🥔
Here are some interesting facts about the humble spud.
The potato was the first vegetable grown in space.
The Inca first grew potatoes in Peru approx 8000 to 5000 BCE.
There is more potatssium in a potato than a banana.
They are 99.9% fat free (before frying 😉)
There are more than 4000 varieties world wide, wow!
What's your favourite way to eat potatoes? Mine.....well there is chips, no, potato bake, no, baked, no roasted in duck fat (Easter tradition) but then there is good ol' mashed. I really loved the potato fritters that my mum used to make. We called them potato cakes I think.
Share your favourite way to eat potatoes.
Happy Potato Appreciation Day (could have be a made up thing?)
*one more interesting fact, we have massive ones in the at the moment, perfect for baked spuds.
